Cabo San Lucas Luxury Spa Resorts

It's understood that the reason for vacations is to sever yourself from the monotonies of the day-in and day-out routine. No one knows this better than the resorts in Cabo; which is why it's trend, as you'll come to notice, that the spas with a grocery-list of services and amenities tend to sit a tier above the rest.

While most resonate a similar theme in terms of the great lengths they'll go to pamper their guests, some steal the spotlight from others and, in turn, become worthy of recognition.

Three resorts, in particular, fit this bill. They are accurately designed for not only relaxation of the body, but of every one of your senses; from their striking aesthetics, to the latest treatments and therapies?all conditioned to purify and rejuvenate.

The atmosphere of the YHI Spa at ME Cabo mimics what we imagine an ancient Mayan spiritual to be like; dimly lit by soft yellow candlelight that franticly flickers the room on and off; and a sweet, relaxing perfume that rents the air and warms the nostrils. By the room's aura alone, one could quite possibly realize complete relaxation.

The Spa follows a ritual of sorts?the Anuiti Ritual?that retunes your mind and body to a state of unconcern and purity?Pericu (exfoliations), Tamaral (renewal), Altepetl (transformation), Tlatani (restoration), and Revitalization.

It was the YHI Spa at ME Cabo that offered one of the more surreal environments, relaxing us to states of near-comatose.

At the Desert Spa at Villa del Palmar, we were greeted by a very contemporary setting of polished marble floor and wood dcor and accent. 'Desert Spa' is affixed in gold script amidst a mural of cacti and desert fauna. What truly made the spa for us were the open spaces and simple arrangements, which emanated an air of professionalism and cleanliness.

Besides offering all the usual suspects?facials, body wraps, hot-stone massages, and a litter of restorative body products?there is also a full-service beauty salon on the premises as well as a number of couples' packages.

Casa del Mar's Spa was another favorite of ours, namely because of their cornucopia of massage therapies; a massage for any and every ailment. Your golfer's swing a source of discomfort, even stabbing pain? They have a massage designed to fix that. Two hands just not enough surface area to satisfy your back? Well, option for their four-hands massage, a peculiar but pleasant sensation that results from the precise synchronization of four hands kneading away the tension from your back.

Resort spas are something of a delicacy; the icing on a cake, the nightcap to a stressful day; and all metaphors aside, they play an increasing factor to where vacationers choose to stay. On our quest to unearthing the eminent spas of Cabo, we came to the conclusion that what truly culls these three from the herd are that instead of haphazardly dumping a facility into a sprawling resort, the YHI Spa of ME Cabo, the Desert Spa of Villa del Palmar, and the Spa of Casa del Mar have built their services around the hotel and the guests, and not the other way around.
